Outcomes before activity
Start with the result you need, then decide what work earns a place on the path.
Separate facts from assumptions
Make uncertainty visible. Test the assumptions carrying the most consequence.
Make tradeoffs explicit
State the alternatives, constraints, risks, and costs instead of hiding them inside a recommendation.
Match rigor to reversibility
Move quickly on reversible decisions. Slow down when a decision creates durable cost or limits future choices.
Measure the outcome
A decision is incomplete until you know what evidence will tell you whether the choice worked.
